Terms of use
The conditions of use, in the shortest form that still says something.
Using this site means accepting what follows. It is short because the site is simple: it publishes written entries and photographs, and it does nothing else.
What is published here
The entries describe rules, courses and equipment as they were understood on the date each entry carries. Regulations change, and an entry read long after its date may no longer match the current rulebook. Before entering, running or judging anything, the governing body’s own current document is what counts, not this record. The links in each entry point at those documents for exactly that reason.
What this site is not
It does not organise events, accept entries, take payment for anything, sell equipment or act for any society. It gives no veterinary advice, no legal advice and no training instruction. Following something described here is a decision taken by the reader, on ground the reader has assessed, with a dog whose fitness the reader knows. Dog sport carries risk to the dog, to the handler and to livestock, and nothing on this site reduces that risk or the responsibility for managing it.
Text and photographs
The text and the photographs are produced for this record. Quoting a short passage with a link back is fine and welcome. Copying an entry wholesale, republishing the photographs, or feeding the site to a service that reproduces it as its own content, is not. Where an entry quotes a regulation, that regulation belongs to the body that publishes it and is quoted here under its own terms, with a link to the source.
Links out
The record links to governing bodies, societies and organisers because their documents are the point. It does not control those sites, is not responsible for what they publish, and does not gain anything from linking to them. If a link has gone dead or now points somewhere unexpected, telling the desk is the fastest way to get it fixed. Data handling is covered on the privacy page, and the working rules of the desk on the editorial policy page.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised as the record grows. A revision is published on this page with its date, and the date on the page is the date the current wording took effect. Using the site after a revision means using it under the revised wording, which is why the page is short enough to be re-read in a minute.
